My thoughts

What makes a confident and outspoken person? I was raised in a family that didn't
believe in spankings and punishments. I learned my values from my mother. My head was always
in a book, I never had a group of friends, larger than about five, in school. We were taught how
to be smart and look towards our future. I wonder sometimes if this is one reason why I am shy
and sometimes afraid of life though.I never went to a party or experienced the sleepovers most
kids do. My head was in my studies and my future. Then my mom took me out of public school
in the ninth grade and I started to homeschooling. This, while suppose to be helping me, made
me have an even bigger wall up. Entering college last year, I was scared to look up as I walked
through the halls. I may have came off as a rude person because I didn't talk. I started working
fast food, this has helped me a great bit. This is the only thing good about working in
fast food (smile). You are around tons of people each and every day, so you learn to
talk. Then last year I had my son. He has made me realize that If I keep acting like
the world is a scary place, he may think the same. I want him to have the best life he
could have. Being sheltered and scared of anyone and anything is not what I want for him.
This semester started in January and I have already made a few friends in each of my classes.
This encourages me to be more open and learn that it is okay to speak to others. I think my
biggest problem is my self confidents. I don't like the way I feel about myself so sometimes
its easier to hide. I want this to change about me. You should love yourself the way you are,
because you are unique. My fiance has helped me a lot with my confidents. I love him for that.
You have to love yourself and be comfortable in your ownskin before others see you
that way.
